Mrs. Devlin Series by Rory d’Eon

Author’s Note:

I wanted to write about a person’s journey when they are forced to change, no matter the reason.

The Unspooling of Mrs. Devlin examines what happens when Mrs. Devlin goes about “correcting” the situation within the set of rules that got her there in the first place. The results are unpredictable and tragic.

The sequel, The Framing of Mrs. Devlin is the realization that the old rules did not work. A new set must be formulated and put into play. Only then can the root causes be seen for what they are and acted upon, this time with effect. Finally, an empowerment results that will last a lifetime, the world has “righted,” everything is in equilibrium.

The Unspooling of Mrs. Devlin

A mother’s battle to save her son from the mind-numbing boredom of parochial existence puts her in direct conflict with the school’s lusty Mother Superior, the Church’s acute predicament, and with her son’s desire for love and independence.

But most of all, she wrestles with her own demons and how to remedy the many years of being trapped in a meaningless marriage.

Can she survive? Who will pay?

Sensuous, deliciously wicked, The Unspooling of Mrs. Devlin is a treat for the senses and mind.

The Framing of Mrs. Devlin

The Framing of Mrs. Devlin

Everything has gone wrong.

Mrs. Devlin is crushed, “snapped out” of reality, and has retreated into her own world, certain that no one understands her, certain that she’s a failure.

Though deeply troubled by her actions, all is not lost.
Roderick flourishes despite her, she finds a listener in Agnes, and Father Penner becomes an ally. Even her husband reaches out to her, though in an unexpected and stirring fashion. Peace returns.

But it’s short-lived. Monsignor’s plans threaten to destroy her and her family. And the underlying issues are still there, haunting her every step.

Once and for all, Mrs. Devlin must preserve what’s most precious to her and her loved ones.

Note: This novel relies on the reader being very familiar with details from The Unspooling of Mrs. Devlin (available at Lulu.com and Amazon.com). Without that knowledge many passages in this book will not make sense. In addition, the overall picture, Mrs. Devlin’s journey, and those of other characters, will be lost.
